Optical brighteners OB and OB-1<\/strong> are specialized additives used to enhance the visual quality of products, mask yellowing, and achieve a whiter, brighter appearance in plastic and polymer applications. By absorbing UV light and emitting fluorescence in the blue-violet region, they improve the color perception of the final product and provide a homogeneous surface appearance. OB-type optical brighteners are preferred in PVC compounds, film, and cable applications by offering high efficiency at low and medium process temperatures; whereas OB-1 shows effective performance in polymer systems processed at high temperatures, such as rigid PVC, PET, PBT, ABS, and masterbatches, thanks to its high heat resistance.
